This 6-month Music Production & Sound Design Certificate is the perfect option for those who want to learn to create and mix music, with an interest in film and TV. You’ll be taught by music industry professionals who’ve worked with artists like The Crystal Method, Daft Punk, and Swedish House Mafia. This program will set you up for a range of careers in the ever-expanding music and media industry such as music producer, sound designer, film/TV composer, arranger, and many more!
Throughout this certificate program you will attend exclusive masterclasses from industry professionals such as Mark de Clive-Lowe, Laura Escude (Jay Z, Kanye West), Daddy Kev (Low End Theory), and Jimmy Mac (Lorde). You’ll be learning your trade on the latest industry tech including Ableton Live, Push, Logic Pro, NI Komplete, Roland Cloud, and more. You’ll take courses relevant to you, and have the chance to swap in options such as Beatmaking or Studio Vocal Production. Each student will receive a copy of Ableton Live 11 Suite ($749 value) or Apple Logic Pro X ($199 value). An Ableton Certified Trainer and Pioneer DJ Battle Championship winner, Mikhail Arce-Ignacio (Mecha) is a versatile producer, engineer, music director, DJ and live electronic performer.

DJ Markman incorporates classic 90s House with futuristic R&B, UK Garage & Bassline. Ableton Certified, his live sets pay homage to the energy that made his heroes sets, artists like Adamski, Orbital and the Chems, so compelling.

None at all! Every Point Blank student has access to their own fully-equipped workstation in class and during their practical studio work outside of class time. If you decide to purchase equipment for your own home studio, we will be happy to help you arrange student discounts from our leading industry partners including Apple, Ableton, Pioneer, Native Instruments, Serato, Izotope, Waves, and more.
For each 10-week course within in this program, class meets once per week for 4 hours (with a 15-minute break included) at one of the following session times:
10:00am – 2:00pm (Morning Session)
2:30pm – 6:30pm (Afternoon Session)
7:00pm – 11:00pm (Evening Session)
Some programs contain up to 4 courses per quarter, so check the "Key Info" section on each program page to see how many classes you'll be attending each week. Our facilities are also open for student use six to seven days a week (depending on the quarterly course schedule), giving you valuable studio time to make your music and reinforce your new skills outside of class sessions.

Yes. Classes are usually available in the evening and on weekends, and we will be happy to arrange a class schedule that works around your other professional commitments. International students have different options for attending Point Blank classes depending on their country of origin. These include the B2 visitor visa, the ESTA visa waiver program, and more. We do not offer F or M student visas at this time.
